SKTW started it's operation in 1947 at Chengamanad for the manufacturing of Mangalore Pattern Tiles (MPT), which was mainly using for the roofing of the buildings and other dwelling places. Company had earned the reputation for the quality MP Tiles in it's brand name 'SUDARSANA'. Small quantities of ridge tiles, terracotta pipes, pottery items etc. were also manufactured alongwith MPT. As a diversified products decline in the growth rate happend for the past few years due to the growth of RCC buildings and competetions of tile manufaturing units nearby areas.

However company has managed to stay in the field and compete with others on quality by with decorative items like the roofs, .walls tiles etc. for adding the aesthetic beauty and reducing the heat conductivity. At present Sree Krishna Tile Works, Chengamanad is one of the few profit making companies in that area' - However the management thinking about: improving the quality of the product and increase productivity and perfecting the technology adopting new business strategies. Modernisation, mechanization, quality improvement is felt as a prime objective of the company at present. Parallelly a pilotplant with all facility is started with proper ceramic expert team from this year 2007 on wards.The process method involved in the company are as follows for quality production.

1. Rotary Press. – Plastic process
2. Friction press –stiff plastic process
3. Screen presses – Power pressing
